Day 1: Arrival - Ho Chi Minh City
Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, Viet Bamboo Travel’s guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Tour (B, L)
In the morning, we start the trip by heading to China Town & visit Binh Tay Market, stopover at Thien Hau, a 150 year old Chinese Temple. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum. Lunch at a local restaurant (enjoy Pho – Vietnamese noodle soup or Banh Xeo – Vietnamese pancake).In the afternoon, visit the Reunification Palace, followed by exploring Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office & XQ embroidery workshop. End the trip with a visit to Ben Thanh Market, time for shopping. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta (B, L)
Enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields. On arrived at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of "Southern Vietnamese folk music", performed by locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste the delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantation and village. Meet the bus and return to HCMC. This trip provides a fascinating insight into daily life in the Mekong Delta and you are guaranteed to take home your own private collection of beautiful memories. Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels – Da Nang (B, L) – by train
Located 60km from HCMC, Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists - the network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens.Today, ducks and water buffalos happily co-exist in the rivers along the side of the road. However, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery belies the area’s violent history. Visitors will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation over this whole area, caused by bombing and mines. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone". Start our tour in the morning, before entering the tunnels visitors can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. You will spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. Afterwards, enjoy tea, cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war). Take train to Da Nang at 19:00 (SE2). Overnight on train.
Day 5: Da Nang - Hoi An
Upon arriving in Da Nang at 11:40, you will be picked up and transferred to Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Free at leisure at the hotel and then discover Hoi An city by yourself. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An - Da Nang - Hue (B, L)
After breakfast, we leave Hoi An for Hue. We will visit Cham Museum & Marble Mountain en route The scenic road is hugging the coastline before crossing over the winding Hai Van pass. A view from the top of the pass is one of Vietnam’s most impressive panoramic scenes. We stop en route to visit the Lang Co beach before reaching Hue city. In the afternoon pay visits to the elaborate mausoleums of King Tu Duc (ruled 1848 – 1883) and King Khai Dinh (ruled 1916 - 1925). The monuments, designed by the kings themselves, were also used as holiday retreats during their lifetime. Overnight in Hue.
Day 9: Hue City Tour - Hanoi (B, L) - by train
Enjoy a a boat cruise along Perfume River leading to Thien Mu Pagoda one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. Explore the Royal Citadel, built in 1804 on a site chosen in accordance with geomancy. The tour of Imperial City features Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace (Palace of Supreme Harmony), and Forbidden Purple City. The next stop is the lively Dong Ba market. Then take train to Hanoi at 14:30 (SE2). Overnight on train.
Day 10: Hue - Hanoi (B)
You will arrive around 04:00 am. Our driver will transfer you to check in hotel. Free and easy for all day. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 11: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Continue on to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son temple, Tran Quoc pagoda and Quan Thanh temple. Cyclo ride around the old quarter streets from Hang Dau to Hang Gai. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 12: Hanoi - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc (B, L)
08:00 Our guide will pick you up at hotel and leave Hanoi Capital for Ninh Binh, enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the rural areas on the way. About 10:00 arrive Hoa Lu, visit the the two temples of King Dinh and King Le in the 10th century, finding out the heroic histories of this two Kings in Chinese Wars. After that, we go to Tam Coc (10 km far from Hoa Lu). Have lunch at local restaurant. After lunch you will get on bamboo boat – rowed by the local people – in Hoang Long river to visit Tam Coc (three caves) on the way, you also have chance to see the paddy field if you visit Tam Coc in April or September. 15:30 Back to the Harbour for the transfer to Hanoi. 17:45 Arrive in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 13: Hanoi - Perfume Pagoda - Lao Cai (B, L) - by night train
08:00 am Our driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel. Then we will have a two hour drive through the picturesque countryside and back roads to the village of Duc, where we get on a small boat for a one hour trip up Yen Vy stream to Thien Tru Quay. You may trek up (or take cable car) to the mountain to Perfume pagoda. Lunch will be ready after that. Going down and then get to Thien Tru Quay to visit more beautiful and precious sculptures, taking photos, worshipping, getting on boat again back to Duc Wharf. Drive back to Hanoi. Take night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.
Day 14: Lao Cai - Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B, L)
After meeting a guide at the Lao Cai railway station, drive to Sapa. Have breakfast and then start trekking. The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigio blue clothing. After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color. The Zay houses are build of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 15: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Sapa (B, L)
After the breakfast we continue to visit Red Dzao people at Giang Ta Chai where we also see a waterfall. The Red Dao women have very colourful red embroideryand coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eyebrows because of a nice Red Zao Legend.We continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and trek up to Su pan where you will meet the our jeep and transfer back to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 16: Sapa - Lai Chau (B, L, D)
This morning our guide will take you on a 5 – 6 hour drive to Lai Chau. On the first part you will pass the beautiful Silver Waterfall Thac Bac and Tram Ton Pass (1900m) with views of the Fansipan Mountain Range. Later you pass and have the chance to visit Lao, Lu, Thai, Mang and Black Dao villages. On the way you will see deep river gorges, tall mountains and green rice fields. In the afternoon you arrive to Lai Chau, one of the hottest places in Vietnam during the summer months. Dinner and stay overnight at homestay in Lai Chau.

Day 17: Lai Chau - Dien Bien Phu (B, L, D)
Today you will take 3 – 4 hours drive to Dien Bien Phu along a road with spectacular views and steep heavily forested hills. Visit some of the minority villages (Kho Mu, Thai and H’mong) en route. At noon you arrive at Dien Bien Phu in the flat Muong Thanh Valley. In the afternoon you will visit the Museum in Dien Bien Phu, which gives you a better understanding of the history of Vietnam War. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.
Day 18: Dien Bien Phu - Son la (B, L, D)
Leave Dien Bien Phu and drive 6 – 7 hours to Son La. The scenery is awesome with high mountains, limestone rocks, gorges, rice fields and small villages. On the way you have the possibility to visit the Thai people. Stay overnight at homestay in Son La. Overnight in Son La.
Day 19: Son La - Mai Chau (B, L, D)
Leave the hotel in the morning for Mai Chau. The road to Mai Chau is lined with orchards, tea plantations, towering mountains and chances to meet and talk to the ethnic black Thai, white Thai, Hmong and Muong hill tribe people. Many will be on their way to work or heading to one of the many local markets. Arrive Lat village in Mai chau at 15:00. Homestay in Lat village of Thai people. Overnight in Mai Chau.
Day 20: Mai Chau - Hanoi (B, L, D)
Breakfast then drive to Hanoi. On the way visit Hoa Binh Hydro-Electric Power. Arrive Hanoi at noon. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 21: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
08:00 - 08:30 Pick up at hotel for three and a half hours road trip with short refreshment on half way to Halong Bay.
12:00 Arrive at Bai Chay Wharf
12:15 Transfer by tender to the Marguerite Junk boat - enjoy Welcome Drink. Receive Junk Facilities and Cruise Instruction as well as Cruise Briefing before check in to cabins and begin cruise Off the Beaten Track.
13:00 Lunch - deluxe Vietnamese Set Menu.
15:00 Arrive at the Surprise Cave area. Transfer by tender to the Surprise Cave.
Walk up the 100 steps to the entrance of the cave and tour on foot for approximately 45 minutes.
16:00 Return to the boat. Enjoy kayaking program to the nearby Cave, lagoon and surrounding waters as well as exploring the daily life of the local people in floating village
17:00 Enjoy swimming or relaxing on board.
18:30 Take part in our cooking class with crispy spring rolls
19:30 Dinner - deluxe Vietnamese Set Menu Dinner.
20:30 Evening activities include: film entertainment in the dining room, board games and playing cards are available, squid fishing from the boat with our crew.

Day 22: Halong Bay (B, L, D)
06:45 Coffee, tea and light breakfast pastries served in the dining room.
08:00 Transfer to the Day Cruise Boat and begin to cruise to some of Halong Bay’s most secluded and untouched area
09:00 Enjoy kayaking to explore the Dark Cave and Bright Cave.
11:00 Return to the boat and relaxing, sun bathing on sundeck
12:00 A multi-course lunch will be served mid-day with seafood and grills
13:00 Cruise further to the Ba Trai Dao area
14:00 Swimming or sunbathing on the small ambiance beaches in Ba Trai Dao area.
15:30 Explore the largest Van Gia fishing village in Halong Bay by Kayak. You will have chance to interact with local fishermen
17:00 Return to Marguerite Junk boat. Refreshing, Relax and enjoy the rest of the dayonboard as day one. Overnight on junk.
Day 23: Halong Bay - Hanoi (B, L)
07:00 Coffee, tea and light breakfast pastries served in the dining room.
08:00 Enjoy riding on the rowing boat to the tunnel cave
09:00 Check-out of cabins. Enjoy relaxing, sunbathing on sundeck while our boat cruise back on different route.
10:45 Enjoy lunch Set Menu served in the dining room while enjoy the bay scenery as we approach the pier (passing Fight Cocks, Incense Burner, Stone Dog).
12:00 Transfer by tender to the pier, relax inside the pier building while waiting for return transportation.
12:20 Transfer back to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi approximately at 16:30. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 24: Hanoi - Siem Reap (B) - by flight
After breakfast, you will take flight to Siem Reap (VN 837 – 15:30 – 17:10). Check in hotel upon arrival. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 25: Siem Reap (B, L)
Early morning, view sunrise at Angkor Wat. Transfer to hotel for breakfast. The same morning visit South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at local restaurant, short relax at hotel. Afternoon, visit Grand Circuit including Pre Rup, East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Pean, Preah Khan, Baksei Chamkrong and South Gate of Angkor Thom. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 26: Siem Reap (B, L)
After breakfast, tour to small Circuit including Prasat Ravan, Banteay Dei, Srah Srang, Ta Prohm, Takeo, Thommanon, Chau Say, Tevoda. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, check out hotel, visit to the World Seventh Wonder of the Magical temple city of Angkor Wat until Sunset. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 27: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh (B, L) – by boat
After breakfat, early morning transfer to pier for departure to Phnom Penh by boat. Simple lunch on boat. Transfer to hotel for short relax. Afternoon visit Toul Sleng Museum and the renowned Central Market. Free at leisure. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 28: Phnom Penh - Departure (B)
Free and easy until our guide pick you up and drop you off the airport for the departure flight. End of services!
