Day 1: Saigon - Arrival
Arrive at Tan San Nhat airport. Welcome by Viet Bamboo Travel’s guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.
Day 2: Saigon City Tour (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Start a sightseeing tour to the Reunification Palace and some French colonial structures including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Central Post Office. Tour of Chinatown and Thien Hau & Quan Am pagodas. After seeing the Emperor Jade Pagoda and the War Remnants Museum, we end the city tour with Ben Thanh market where anything and everything is for sale. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 3: Saigon - My Tho - Ben Tre (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up at hotel and transfer to My Tho. Take the experience boat through Bao Dinh natural canal and see the stilt houses and the fruit plantation along the canal sides. Visit the My Tho wholesale fruit market. Proceed to the Tortoise island. Lunch served in the heart of the orchard. Enjoy a boat ride through the Tan Thach natural canal in Ben Tre, cruising under the shadows of the water coconut trees. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. After trekking through the fruit plantation in Thoi Son island, enjoy a rowing boat ride on the creeks before returning to My Tho. Road trip back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 4: Saigon - Da Nang - Hoi An (B, L) - by flight
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tan San Nhat airport from where you will board flight to Da Nang. Our guide and car pick you up and transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. In the afternoon, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas built in Chinese style. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 5: Hoi An - Hue (B, L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Hue via Da Nang, visit the Marble mountain, the Cham museum. Stop for photos at the Hai Van pass, Lang Co beach. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Dong Ba market, the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, and the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City. Enjoy the night boat trip enlivened by a performance of Hue folks songs. Overnight in Hue.
Day 6: Hue City Tour - Hanoi (B, L) - by flight
Breakfast at the hotel. Take the morning boat trip to visit the royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, Thien Mu pagoda and mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang, in a setting of gardens and lakes. Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to airport for boarding flight to Hanoi. Pick up at Noi Bai airport by Viet Bamboo Travel’s guide and car, transfer to your hotel in the Old Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 7: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
You are met at 08:30 in the hotel lobby. There is a morning and afternoon schedule, as well as an organised lunch.
Morning visit: Ho Chi Minh Complex including the Mausoleum, The Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070, A local Vietnamese lunch.
Afternoon: A traditional performance of the famous Vietnamese water puppets, Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake, A one-hour cyclo tour through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi. You will finish city tour round 17:00. Come back hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 8: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Hanoi (B, L)
In the morning, we come to pick you up at your hotel from 8h00 for 3.5 hours bus ride through the country side of the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Water buffalos, paddy fields (rice transplanting time: February and June) and daily Vietnamese farmer life are on both sides of the way.
Arrive in Halong City around noon, we board a traditional wooden junk and start the cruising trip to the center of the bay. Fresh seafood lunch (vegetable menu available) is served while the boat is gliding out. Get ready for exotic photos and absorbing the most magnificent natural splendors, limestone bedrocks and sheer cliffs of tiny islands highlighted with fanciful names: Fighting Cocks (symbol of Halong Bay), Duck (quick swim is an optional choice), Finger, Incense Burner, and Stone Dogs.
Stopping for a rowing boat trip around Ba Hang Floating village then keep cruising to the most beautiful cave named Thien Cung (Heaven Palace Grotto) and explore huge chambers adorned with stalactites and stalagmites of all kinds. Continue to enjoy this relaxing cruise on the way back to Ha Long harbor, our waiting vehicle transfer you back to Hanoi. Trip ends at your hotel around 19:30. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi - Depature (B)
Breakfast at the hotel. Free until transfer to Noi Bai airport for departure. We can arrange additional customized trips for you if the above itinerary does not match your expectations.
