Day 1: Arrival - Hanoi
Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, our guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to hotel for check in. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi city tour - Lao Cai (B, L) - by night train
You are met at 08:00 am in the hotel lobby. There is a morning and afternoon schedule, as well as an organised lunch.
- Ho Chi Minh Complex including his former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh Museum
- The Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070
- A local Vietnamese lunch
- Hanoi Hilton museum (Hoa Lo prison)
- Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake - the Ngoc Son Temple is set on a tiny island on Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century
- A one-hour cyclo tour through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi!
- A traditional performance of the famous Vietnamese water puppets.
Then transfer to Station with our guide to catch the night train to Lao Cai (soft sleeper with airconditioning) at 21:50pm, arrive 5:30 or 6:00am. Overnight on train.
Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa - Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho (B, L)
Arrive Lao Cai, pick up at Lao Cai Station. After the breakfast at local restaurant. Then our driver will pick you up at hotel and depart to Sapa, following Noi Bai - Lao Cai high-way. Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog.
12.15: Arrive in Sapa. Check in hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, our gudie in Sapa will pick up and start the trip in Sapa. You first sneak through the Sapa market and leave the busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, you follow a road going downhill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while before continuing the trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest while you are served lunch nearby the river. Relax and overnight in Sapa.
Day 4: Sapa - Fansipan - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Lao Cai - Hanoi (B, L) - by night train
After breakfast, we drive to Silver Waterfall. The Silver Waterfall is located about a half hour from Sapa town which offers stunning views over surrounding mountains and lush forests belonging to Hoang Lien National Park. You are advised to stop by a farm for a cup of tea and talk with people to understand their local life. Then we continue our drive uphill to the Heavens Gate, the highest stretch of road in Vietnam as well as the provincial border of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. Enjoy fantastic view over the valley!
Then take a cable car to Fansipan mountain. Currently the highest point of Fansipan is at 3,143m high. As you know the cable car in Sapa is the world’s longest and highest cable car, running up from sleepy Sapa Town in Lao Cai Province to the peak of Fansipan Mountain, known as Indochina’s rooftop. Enjoy the view from the highest point of this incredible mountain. The lush green and subtropical vegetation makes this mountain really very beautiful. Take some pictures for unforgettable experience from the top. After taking scenery then get cable car back to Sapa.
Then we start trekking. The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigio blue clothing. After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color. The Zay houses are build of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. Then transfer to the station in Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi at 20:15pm, arrive around 05:00am. Overnight on train.
Day 5: Hanoi - Da Nang - Hoian (B) - by flight
05:00 Our guide and driver will pick up from Hanoi train station and visit the flower market at Quang Ba and see people exercise Tai Chi and the life of people in the early morning at Ho Guom Lake.
Then transfer to the airport for the flight to Da Nang (VN 165 - 09:20 - 10:35). Upon arrival, our drive will pick you up and transfer to Hoi An. Relax and overnight in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoian - Boat trip (B, L)
07:30: Our guide and driver will pick you up at hotel and transfer to border port.
08:00: Transfer to Cham Island by high speed cruise.
09:00: Take a tour around Cham Island to visit Bai Lang, Au Thuyen (where boats stop to avoid storms), Tang pagoda and drop in fishing village to experience local life.
10:00: Relax and enjoy snorkling to see beautiful natural coral ranges under water. Have fruits and drinks served.
11:30: Sunbathe and then have lunch with local fresh seafoods.
14:00: Transfer back to Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoian - Bicycle tour (B, L)
07:30: Our guide will pick you up at hotel
08:00: Cycle to Farming Village
08:30: Experience a day of living and working with the local farmers in this village and learning about the system and the fresh ingredients.
09:30: Board the boat and cruise to the mouth of the river where it meets the Cua Dai Sea.
10:00: Try your experience at local traditional fishing techniques using round and cast nets. Learn to paddle the strange and unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boats.
11:30: Back on board and enjoy lunch and drink.
13:00: Transfer back to hotel. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 8: Hoian (B)
Free at leisure at the hotel and then discover Hoi An city by yourself or relax on Cua Dai or An Bang beach. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 9: Hoian - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh city tour (B, L) - by flight
An early morning transfer to the airport for a short flight (VN103 – 07:55 – 09:10) to south. Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals, is a center of commerce, finance, culture and tourism in Vietnam. This bustling metropolis ,contradiction of its northern counterpart, is crowded with bikes and motorbikes, excited by numerous shopping area and sidewalk cafe. A city tour takes us in the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975. Close to the palace are some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office. After seeing the War Remnant, we continue to the bustling Ben Thanh Market for an appreciation of local life. Relax and overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh city - Mekong Delta (B, L)
08:00 Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and depart for Cai Be, stop for photos at Tan An town over the flat rice fields. On arriving in Cai Be, start the motorized boat ro visit the Cai Be Floating Market, experience how people exchanging goods, fruit and many other commodities on their vessels. Visitors then roam into the small villages to visit the orchard, fruit plantation...
Keep cruising to Vinh Long through small canals to enjoy the charm of the Upper Mekong Delta. Visit some hand – made family business products such as the coconut candy mill, the crispy rice popcorn. Arrive in Binh Hoa Phuoc village – the green pearl of Vinh Long town where you can indulge yourself into the nature . Have lunch with fresh river food served in the heart of the garden. Enjoy the southern Vietnamese traditional folk music. Take a nice walk through the bonsai garden. Meet the car/van in Vinh Long. Return to Ho Chi Minh city. Finish the trip around 18:00 at your hotel.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh city - Cu Chi Tunnel - Depart (B, L)
08:00 am. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel. This morning you take a drive to Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh to observe the midday service. Stop for lunch. Then transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for the your international flight. End of services
